I smiled,
Watched the sky, blinked like you,
For the child in me was freed,
One kept in the dark of my mind,
Lost in time,
But your eyes called it,
Held its hand and walked it into the light,
I turned around and saw me,
One that had matured,
Ignored smiling, Faked it,
But the heart hurt then,
You freed me from that hurt,
I thank you,
For you brought the joy back to my heart,
I smiled again,
And I called you,
I called you my child,
For you are my childhood,
And your life showed me,
My childhood exists as you,
Making me smile.
